What could be considered the early iteration of the popular subway tile, Zellige dates back to the 10th century. These Moroccan tiles are the definition of handmade – using clay each tile is hand molded, hand cut, and hand glazed, meaning no two tiles are the same. Our Zellige line comes from artisians in Morrocco – most of the field tile and some of the mosaics are stocked in the U.S., while custom colored field and mosaics have longer lead times being made on an order by order basis in Morrocco.
